Delete your PeerTute account
Two ways to do it. The first is instant.
In the app — takes a minute
- Open PeerTute and sign in
- Go to the Profile tab
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
- Confirm
This happens immediately. You do not need to contact anyone.
By email — if you cannot sign in
Email support@peertute.app from the email address on the account, and ask us to delete it.
We reply within 7 days. We ask you to write from the account's own address because it is the only way we can tell it is really you — we will not delete an account on the word of someone we cannot verify.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, email, phone number, photo
- Your verification documents — national ID or student ID, selfie, result slips
- Your messages and any files you uploaded
- Your tutor profile, courses and rates
- Your course search history and notification tokens
What is kept, and why
We keep a small amount, and only where keeping it protects other people or is legally required:
- Reports made about you, if any, and their outcome. Deleting an account cannot be a way to erase a safety record — otherwise anyone could wipe the slate and sign up again.
- Reviews you wrote stay on the tutor's profile, with your name removed. Removing them would misrepresent that tutor's history to other students.
- Minimal session and payment records where we are required to keep them for legal or accounting reasons.
None of what we keep identifies you to other users.
Deletion is permanent
There is no undo, and we cannot restore an account after it is deleted. If you only want a break, signing out is enough — your account stays as it is.
